How are they? Comfy? Smelly? Deteriorating? Or maybe some comination of the three? Mine have aged extraordinarily well. The back seat is also wayyyy softer than a typical car seat. Driving my friends around New England is my favorite thing to do with this car, and the seating arrangement is perfect for it.

Kinja'd!!!

Amusingly, for that reason nobody ever calls shotgun because there’s no point! Unless it’s cold and someone wants a heated seat; those are only in the front. There is also a memory function that can be set to move the seat back and retract the steering wheel when you turn the car off, because Americans are fat and we need help getting out. Sliding back a foot every time I turn the car off though? Weird. So I have that switched off. That said, hopping back in the car when the system is on is incredibly cool. As soon as you start the engine the seat moves you back into your preferred position, and the car hands you the steering wheel. It’s like a fancy Datsun “welcome back” handshake.

So Oppo, how are your seats?

The back seat of my Forester looks like a crime scene. Trust me, you don’t want to see it. But I’ll report back with a photo whenever it is done with service at the dealer.

Toddler for scale. 2013 Chrysler T&C, great for 800 miles, after which I am too tired of driving to care about how a seat feels.

Pretty good bolstering and I’m a skinny guy. Heated too which is nice.

I do 4 hour trips all the time and only in the last half hour does my ass start not liking them.

Kinja'd!!!

They’re just seats, exactly as advertised on the box. Nothing fancy like monogramming but they’re comfy and ten way adjustable. They could use a good conditioning and the cushioning on the bases is a bit flat.

Kinja'd!!!

I have almost the same feature as you- the steering wheel moves up when the car is turned off but with the bonus that the wheel and mirrors are tied into the memory seats. Additionally, the seat can be programmed to key memory so that it’ll adjust depending on which key is used to unlock the car. That means when the spouse uses their key it’ll automatically go into their seat position and then back again when you use your key next.

Supportive, comfortable, vented enough not to cook you in hot weather, durable and extremely easy to clean.

Fantastic! This is an old pic, but I’ve got both brides in now and I love them. At 6 ft and 200 pounds these are right on the good side of tight. Heavy bolstering but getting in and out is still easy. Not a ton of padding, but ergonomically, it feels like this seat is made for me so I’ve had no problem doing multi week Roadtrips.

It’s a love it or hate it thing with passengers though. Overweight people literally can not fit... Which has led to some awkward situations.

Volvo has always made the best headrests, such a nice modern shape there. Never a bland design, always something weird. IDK if they will ever improve on these tho!

Lol your mini-me is SO hyped about this, apparently! One of my friends owns an older T&C for hauling music equipment. If these are anything like the captains chairs in that thing, they’re unbelievably comfy

They’re a cool design too. I usually dislike 2 tone seats but those shades are close enough to make it work. It’s not shouting at you, just a cool design. I also like the whole center console, even if it’s plastic. That’s a good shape.

VW interiors are just oh so classy. And if that shifter is anything like the GTI I drove once, it’s reaaaaallly nice, no?

I’ve always wanted to check out a real serious seat like this but have never even sat in one. Also LOL do tell, who didn’t fit in your car? And did they try to blame you? What a situation

Yes. Basically if I unlock the car with the remote the seat, wheel, and mirrors will slide into the position that’s saved to my particular key.

These are the most comfortable seats ever! They are firm, yet not stiff and the bolstering is great. The best seats in any car i have ever owned. Hell, I even am comfortable sitting in back.

I don’t know if you mean the feel of the gear changes or the actual shifter which is made of leather and indeed feels very nice.

Both. The shift knob was a perfect size/weight and the gear changes felt very precise.

I’ll be honest... I bought it sight unseen with no prior racing seat experience. Got pretty lucky!

Let’s see... My coworker who takes everything incredibly personally didn’t fit, and was damaging the fabric, and I couldn’t think of a way to tell him without him being in a gloomy, bitter mood all day. So I just said “you’re kinda fat”. Not the greatest choice of words.... Made for a fun work day.

My girlfriend hates the seats. She’s not overweight at all, but at 6'1 with a, err... Feminine body, I guess it just doesn’t work for her. As I’m reminded, loudly and often, every time we go anywhere in my car haha

Lol!! Those stories did not disappoint. Regarding your co-worker though... there are just some situations where overweight ppl need a reality check because it’s causing a problem for others (or other people’s seats). In general I feel bad for them and try to be nice though. Also I bet walking down the street with a very “feminine” 6 foot tall GF is hilarious. Kinda like this maybe:
