I’m not even close to joking about those doilies, btw. Those doilies are fucking fabulous and it cuts me to my very soul knowing that whatever monster buys this is going to remove them.

because then you wouldn’t have the added inconvenience of wrong hand drive!

the Japanese are big on doilies in livery cars, for some reason. When I was there, every single taxi I took had them on all seats.

I’m always amused by late 80s & early 90s Japanese luxury cars including small CRT televisions in oddly-shaped consoles.

And a remote! And a headphone jack! And the doilies are sort of like those velcro headrest covers! It’s like a plane that flies on land!

Why do so many of these luxury Japanese market cars come with cloth? Is leather not as big of a deal over there?

You gotta admit, wrong-hand-drive would be an interesting novelty on a non-daily. If anything, the confused looks would be funny.

I don’t know, but I wish more brands did it. A luxury sedan I can put my dog in? Yes, please.

it gets old fast. though I’ll admit I had a right-hand-drive Mustang convertible for a weekend a little over a year ago, and people lost their minds when they saw me driving it.

From what I’ve hear in Japan high end luxury means nice quality cloth. If you are getting in or out of your big luxury car and the leather makes an embarrassing squeak when you sit down it’s considered very rude and embarrassing. Politeness and respect are paramount inportance.

So this car actually sold locally to me, and has been modified a bit. I just posted it.
