this is what I don’t get about squids who do wheelies on the highway- exactly who do they think they’re impressing? ‘cos we aren’t impressed, we’d much rather you wipe out.

This weekend I watched a kid cross the street at an intersection while riding a wheelie and looking directly at the guy in the car that he passed in front of.

I looked at the wife and said, that kid has some balls. He reminds me of me and I like him.

Dude was fully geared up, so I don’t know he’s be fully in the “squid” category. More in the “YOLO!” category.

No idea about who they think they’re impressing. I had a squid riding very close to me the other day. I’m doing five over on a surface street in traffic. He blasts past me pulling a wheelie, then looks back at me in traffic like I’m supposed to give him a thumbs up or something. I’m on a vintage bike that I put together myself. Like I could give two shits about a guy pulling wheelies on some bike he financed. I gave him the universal jerk off motion instead.

Here’s my 2 cents. Yeah he was being pretty stupid, and yeah there are better places to release the hooliganism. But he got caught, he’ll get his punishment and then probably be a bit smarter.

BUT , who here has NEVER done anything dumb on/in a vehicle? A motorbike is just another vehicle. Never done a burn out, slid a corner, apexed a curve, sped that little bit too fast?

I know I drove my little go-kart CRX too hard at times, power-slide my Sonoma around corners, utilized my Wrangler’s 4WD to take some questionable paths and highly suspect parking locations, handbrake slid my Veloster, and used my Eagle’s generous clearance to drive down dirt roads a little recklessly. And I’ve 100% used my enduro Husky’s dirt-bike-ness to illegally utilize the shoulder / ditch / off-ramp as my own personal lane in a traffic jam. All were dumb. Generally the decisions get less dumb as I get older. Generally...
