Kinja'd!!!

Found at a home on Mercer Island. If you look closely you’ll see that it is indeed very auto-related. Best guesses as to what it is and where it came from below!

Kinja'd!!!

1. Art. If you have to ask how much, you can’t afford it pal.

2. An ambitious paper maché project for the 4th grade art fair, with “assistance” from the groundskeeper who has a degree in material science and a passion for flair. They can’t throw it away, because it would break poor Mr. Turnip’s heart...

3. We all know the earth resides atop the back of a turtle. Plus some elephants I think... or something. So maybe, just maybe, our highway system is laid across the Giant Land Walker Deer, and this is a scale model all homes of the Land Walker Tribe keep at their home to appease the Great Hoofed One.

Further confirmation that people living on Mercer Island don’t have enough problems.

Some do. I bought my Integra from a guy living on Mercer Island. Only someone with serious problems would sell an Integra :p

My neighbor has a first-gen 5-door (4-door liftback?). All Intergras end up in Everett one way or another.

Entire time I was there the owner was trying to convince his visiting family that the new Hyundai Genesis he bought was an incredible vehicle and on par or better than the two Mercedes they already had.

Oh and you’ll love this, I grabbed a driveway pic while I was there.

Kinja'd!!!

How many cars do you think would fit in here? 10 ft hedge surrounding the driveway, with 2 entrances (corner lot)

But they won’t have their own super special highway exit off the express lanes on 520 anymore! THEY TOTALLY HAVE PROBLEMS! REGULAR PROBLEMS LIKE YOU AND I HAVE!

Now there’s an “ez care” lawn.

Probably bought the house for 50K in 1971 and think they are being abused now.

Wouldn’t surprise me. In the early 70's my grandma lived on hunts point right next to the boing CEO of the time. I think she said it was under 40k...

I could believe it. I have seen ads for new houses in Somerset/Whispering Heights when much of that was being built, late 70s - maybe 70-80k even in that inflationary time, and that was an upscale development. I think you could get into Newport Shores for no more than 100K then, too. Common old houses in west Bellevue or Clyde Hill were easily well under 100K. And the local old lucky ones still say young people today have it easy.

My geography mistake just made my brain explode. Completely wrong bridge, completely wrong location. SR520 won’t have an HOV exit at Montlake. Mercer Island is on I-90. Soooo. My head confused Montlake and Mercer Island, apparently.

Wait... This might be my fault. The 92nd Ave exit is hunts point/Clyde Hill... Not Mercer Island! Whoops...

Used to drive up to somerset to take in the view of the city at night. Thanks for the reminder, I might just do that again this week.

The question is should I attach the exhaust components first or leave it dumping after the cat...

No emissions tests?

I live on a mild hill in Bellevue, and hear my fair share of loud cars. Some sound good, some are douchey (Subarus and BMWs, I am talking to you). There’s a fine line, you decide if you cross it :)

I’ve just been lazy. I have to drill out the Flanges on my midpipe to fit the hardware I want to use.

My dirty little secret... I have no idea how emissions testing works in Washington or if I’ll ever need to do it. I’ve had the car for a year and a half and haven’t had any trouble with tabs or anything yet so... Here’s hoping I’m good? Too scared to look up the rules because I’d have to change a lot to pass, I would imagine.

What year is the car, and what general area do you live in? That’s the key, I think. Testing is every other year on older cars, so this might be your year :)

I think it is a pretty basic easy test - I once had a 200K mile 1989 MB that passed with flying colors (now old enough to be exempt, I think). Removing a cat might not be as easy to pass, though.

95, Kirkland. There’s a brand new cat going on, but I’m not sure if it work being a “high flow” cat. Hmm...

Yep, you gotta do emissions when you renew your tags this year, per the WA DOL FAQ:

http://www.emissiontestwa.com/e/faq.aspx

There appears to be a 25 year cut off, so you are almost home free. You might wanna either do the cat asap, or if you want to run without it, wait until after the test.
