Kinja'd!!!

*Edit never mind solved it by going to an older version* Hello hoping one of you geniuses can help me. I’m looking for a mkv converter. I’ve used the same one for years and it mysteriously stopped working and the web site from its makers vanished from the net so guess its not being supported.. I’m not looking to rip or truly convert the file just repackage the mkv container to avi or mp4 so the files will play on a ps3. The one i used forever just changed the container super quickly like 1-2 minutes for a 2 gb file not the lengthy conversion that basically cripples my pc for nearly the length of the video. The one I used was called mkv2vob it rocked used zero resources and was super simple. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use this one:

https://www.videohelp.com/software/As-Video-Converter

Runs really fast with GPU encoding support.

LOL I just had some for lunch.

EDIT: Don’t download it yet, for some reason Windows Defender is firing alerts on the file on the current version. I’ve contacted the author, but he’s Japanese so in a different timezone. If you really need it right now, I can fetch you a copy of my working one.

Kinja'd!!!

Ok maybe I’m missing something. I didn’t change any setting but as soon as I start it the conversion says failed.

There’s a weird thing about this program, by default it outputs to the same folder as the input file. Check that, also make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

*Correction output folder was the only thing I changed.. Anyway I bailed on it found an older version of the one I was using (you reminded me of that option by offering your older version) trying that now.

Yeah I’m using 7.0.1 right now. Also check the GPU setting, make sure it’s selected the right video card.
