It was interesting for carspotting... I saw two extremely rare early-2000s Ford Truck products on 85 south heading from Charlotte to Gaston County:

Kinja'd!!!

The Lincoln Blackwood was unexpected, as it was one of a few dozen sold.

Then I saw bearing down on me a lifted white F150 with a light bar. But it wasn’t exactly that. I moved right to let it pass and saw the flared front fenders and badges.

It was an NF-155

Kinja'd!!!

This was a No Fear-branded “prerunner” for SEMA 2002 that was sold through Ford dealers for the 2003 model year. It was exceptionally rare.

They made the GT-R I saw today look common.

Mine included a Lamborghini of an undetermined model, because driving. I know that doesn’t particularly ring bells for a lot of people but seeing a Lambo parked on the street in downtown Spokane, Washington is not an everyday occurrence. BTW, it was pure cocaine white, but sadly not a Countach.

Original ford GT in race livery parked casually at a busy park in Bellevue. I was driving by and would have rear ended the guy in front if my passenger hadn’t yelled...

Never understood that Lincoln - buy a Ridgeline and get over yourself.

Well sure - you can’t go wrong with a big Ford truck. But a Honda anything will to the moon (240,000 miles) and get you home again. Damn, wish I had the need for a car.

Even in Bellevue that has to have been something. I saw one here a couple of years back that looked totally authentic, right down to the faded blue paint and wheels, but I have to believe it was kit. Otherwise I was behind a multimillion dollar car.

Hondas aren’t infallible (Odyssey transmissions come to mind) and Ford trucks regularly see the other side of 200,000 miles. If you’re going to compare the Lincoln Blackwood to anything, it should be a high trim F-150, not a Pilot with a pickup bed.

I cannot argue with you there - and I have driven both an F-150 and a Ridgeline (for less than a day each) and the Honda seemed the most roadworthy. Used a friends F250 to pull my horse to a show - barbaric (and a 4 speed w/ a granny gear).

On the other hand, the Ford (150) had 4WD and was old enough to have manually locking hubs, so that figures into it ... yet the Bronco I drove a few years later was still a giant piece of gear. But hey - Ford trucks are the favorite of millions - who am I to argue?

Well, the Honda didn’t exist then ... so there’s that.

I used to. In the parking lot of a dumpy apartment building.

the Ridgeline didn’t exist when the Blackwood was on the market.

I was a supplier engineer when the Blackwood was being launched, and had to go to Kansas City for a pre-production build. what a disaster that program was.
