Eddie Rickenbacker - Buick Cascada.
American brand, premium, open top to feel the wind in his hair, mechanically interesting. A Cadillac is too bulky and flashy by just a *hair*. Weird, but not very assuming.
As to not being an objectively good idea, well, Eddie’s own car brand was a flop too.

I know, but I had to find something that was smallish, dull, and quirky all at the same time while being both generally well-ish made and American-branded and convertible. I didn’t think Chrysler group’s offerings would cut it.
