Didn’t get an exterior, or a before photo of this one, but the leather was wearing out after 9 1/2 years and 247k miles.

2008 GMC Sierra 1500 All-Terrain
5.3/4wd/crew cab
ODO read 247,201 when it was pulled out of the shop. The factory stuff didn’t even really look bad but the customer said “I’m gonna keep this truck for another ten years I might as well get the seats cleaned up.”

He also bought new foam for the driver’s seat. That’s a good-looking interior:

I’m slowly coming to this conclusion. My seats are shit. But I have no desire to get rid of the vehicle they’re attached to, so...

Holy crap. A 2008 tuck was built 9 and a half years ago. I’m young but good lord has time flown.

Looks sharp. Do you guys use real leather? If you don’t mind me asking, about what does a front 2-seat recover run?

Like most manufacturers, we use a leather-vinyl mix. The seating surfaces are all genuine leather but things like the skirts along the bottom and the backs of the seats tend to be vinyl.

If you were to come to my shop in Charlotte, it’d be about $800 for one row (we do these by row because that’s how we pay for the leather and labor) and $1000 for two.

Looks great, probably one of my favorites you’ve posted. Sometimes it’s better to keep it simple.

Why vinyl for the non-seating surfaces? Is it just to save money, or is there a functional reason? I ask because the leather on my car seat is great after 13 years, but the vinyl parts are cracking everywhere.

That seems on point for a fully custom semi-leather seat upholstery job.

It’s mostly cost. For raw materials, 0ur leather is about 3.5x as expensive as vinyl. But vinyl tends to stretch a bit on installation so it makes it easier to install.

I have a car with a similar interior color scheme (2008 Volvo C30 R Design) which I despise. How well do the dyes or paints that are advertised by interior shops work? My center portions are leather with a vinyl outer as shown in your pictures. Can the center portions be changed with paint, and if so, how well does it hold up (assuming it is done correctly, by a pro)?

Check out some local shops. Some are good. Some aren’t so much.
