I Want To Play A Game

So after many many years of strict console gaming (I honestly think the last PC game I played was NFS: Underground) I installed Steam and bought Shellshock Live last night. Hey, its probably the ONE game this thing can run.

Oh, and I can probably play CAH too sometime. With the wife’s work schedule changing I will have many nights alone in the near future once the kids are tucked in bed.

So add me on Steam (I have no idea how it works yet so be gentle) and on Xbox Live, I’m Takuro Spirit (sometimes with the space, sometimes with an _) on both platforms.

Not sure what all I’ll be playing, or CAN play, unless anyone has some suggestions.

I play a LOT of State Of Decay on Xbox. Looking forward to the Co-Op sequel coming out this year. How graphically intensive is 7 Days?

It is pretty basic, but the maps are really big. The graphics only lagged for me when I first logged on till I adjusted my settings.

Stardew Valley is great, relaxing but interesting, and the CRT monitor in a Buick Reatta can play it.

I was looking into Town Of Salem for that same reason... but I’ve seen how triggering that came can get.

I play on a PvP Lite server. So people WILL kill you, but they generally don’t look for you. Most bases are in mountains or at least underground. Mine is inbetween 4 cities so I can loot them.

I’m not familiar with Town of Salem, sounds like it involves witches.

Stardew is great though. I barely even bother farming anymore, I’m a fantastic fisherman so that works better for me.

Not sure what you’re into, so some diverse suggestions that generally do not require the heftiest of PCs:

Civilization V (get the full bundle thing when it’s 80% off)

Portal 1 & 2

Absolute Drift (use a controller)

The Elder Scrolls IV, and perhaps V (if you can run it)

Fallout III and/or New Vegas

Age of Empires II HD

Euro Truck Simulator 2 and/or American Truck Simulator

FSX

Spintires

House of the Dying Sun

Rollercoaster Tycoon (any of them)

ABZÜ

80 Days (also on mobile)

Windward

Reigns (also on mobile)

OH SHIT SPINTIRES. I had forgotten all about that game. ATS also was on my wish list, a couple of my friends play it and it makes me sad, all the moments they share on the open road.

Automation is fun (though currently still in development at the moment!) if you are a petrolhead.

Kerbal Space Program is awesome if you are into space and science! Also very rewarding as the game has a steep learning curve, but the first time you land on the Mun or another planet (or even get into orbit above Kerbin!) is one of those gaming accomplishments that sticks with you!

I’ll second Stardew Valley - good relaxing game if you want to just chill out!

Wreckfest should be a cool racing game when it is finally finished (especially for multiplayer) and BeamNG is a very realistic, fun driving sim!

If you’re a Battletech/Mechwarrior universe fan (or just like giant robotic walking tanks with lasers and missiles :P ), download Mechwarrior Online - I’ve been a huge fan of the series since Mechwarrior 2 came out back in like....’96 or so, and still love to play MWO matches when I can! Plus, MWO is free other than buying special paint, non-gameplay-affecting items or ‘Hero’ mechs with unique weapon layout abilities and paintjobs (though the mechs themselves are no power capable than non-paid mechs).
