Well, I’ve taken that 17000km 1989 Mitsubishi MiniCab with its 550cc NA engine to see how it does!

Can’t watch the video right now, but I imagine it’s scary, since I can’t imagine it goes to decent highway speeds, or at least not quickly.

Great video, thanks for shooting this.
I’ve driven a 660cc turbo Suzuki kei truck at those speeds, the smooth road would help a lot. I also thought it was really funny to see the top of the strut tower right under the driver’s seat, I assume it’s very similar on yours.

No I didn’t. Yet I had to see the entire video. I do wonder though why it has a 550cc engine though, wasn’t 660 the limit for Kei-class?

Up until 1991 it was 550cc for keicars :)

Driving in a place where you can’t read most of the signs looks scary. It’s one thing being some somewhere they talk foreign but at least you can usually see where to go and what you’re allowed or not allowed to do.

Nah, important signs are the same as in the rest of the world and general directions are indicated in romanji. It gets more problematic when trying ot reach a specific address if you don’t have a GPS as Japan is a freaking mess when it comes to addresses...

Of that time we had the similar Bedford Rascal/Vauxhall Rascal/Suzuki Carry and Super Carry. Built in Luton, England with a 970cc engine.
I used to see loads when I was younger, now, not so much.
Lovely video. I’ve never drive in one. Would be a great little city run about in virtually any country.
