Tires mounted today. I have no idea how old the old ones were, but the sidewalls showed some cracks and they were making me nervous. On my first ride on the new tires I felt like ride, grip, and handling were better, but I could just be convincing myself. But at minimum, the old tires were making me think too much of avoidable automotive deaths like Paul Walker and Anton Yelchin. We all know basic safety rules like “keep good tires on your vehicle if you want to live,” and “always engage the parking brake” but we all slip a little sometimes.

They will get better as they wear in a little. Have fun!! I used to ride a 1966 smallframe and it was night and day with new tires very similar to those, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how much they help the ride.

You being the local expert, in my eyes, how often should one change motorcycle tires? Is it every five years like a car tire?

3 year old tire is my limit. then again, i ride my bikes significantly harder and in worse conditions then most other ppl on here.
now that I think about it, I go through at LEAST 2 rears and one front a season.

Yeah. I’m doing something just a little different. I rarely see the high side of 35 mph on my scooter. I’m sure this tire is original, so 2012.
