Kinja'd!!!

And I still want a ZHP. But given their age, it’s looking less and less likely every day.

Here’s a decent one close to me.

That looks like it’s in great shape and seems like a good price. I mean, you’d have to check it out, but looks as good as a car can look on craigslist.

What’s stopping you from at least checking it out?

For what it’s worth, the non-zhp 330i is great with a sport pack, and can be had for a few thousands cheaper. There’s a lot of misinformation about the differences of a ZHP - that guy gets it mostly right. The steering rack may or may not feel a bit heavier, but the turn ratios are identical. There’s a good thread about it here. The Sport Package suspension (springs, shocks) on a standard 330i is identical to the ZHP. The control arm bushings are different, but they’re an easy swap, and if you’re buying a used car , you might be refreshing the bushings at some point anyways, and opt for ZHP spec. Same with the alignment. I do wish I had a 6th gear on the highway, but it’s not bad at all. Later-model e46's did get a 6 speed. I understand why ZHP’s command a price premium, but the premium seems a bit large for the performance difference.

Solid question. The only thing stopping me is me. I really want to knock out some more of my debt and get my emergency fund built up. But then again I’d also like to go to Spain or Italy again next year. Priorities I guess. I’ve wanted one of these for a while, but it’s never been a top priority. Plus I don’t live in Greensboro anymore. So I’d have to go check it out when I went back to visit family.
