My eyes.....

Also, I’m wondering why they claim it is a 1.9 GTi, while they chose the specs of a 1.6 GTi...

It’s most likely a typo because they were so distracted by the ugliness of the mods. None the less I feel bad for the little GTi.

Way to butcher a GTi. A half decent GTi is easily €5k. It’s a parts donor like this. If the exterior isn’t evidence enough, just look at the interior. Mismatched rear seat parts (GTi lower part, 1990s vanilla 205 upper part) and seat covers over the front seats. Seats can be replaced but they do tell you something about the previous owner(s). I’m seeing manual windows as well, even though GTis came with power windows.

Yes the poor thing. Have you seen the way they ‘fused’ (probably bondo) the rear bumper to the rear fender?

It tells me to stay the hell away from it. I wouldn’t even mind period correct tasteless mods if they are done right but this one looks brutal. Still want a GTi or even a 309 GTi somehow.

Hack job chav style repair. The 2000s were not a good time for (then) affordable hot hatches in terms of being in reach of young idiots.

While I prefer 205s, 106s are better from a costs perspective. Prices are lower and availability is higher.

I bet this conversion is at least a decade old.

Probably so. I’ve always had a thing for the 106, especially for the Rallye.

There are still some people who mod their cars like this, believe it or not. Did you see the grim reaper 206 in Stavelot?

I certainly did. Its reflection is burnt on my cornea.
