Let’s say you just got a new, facelifted Tesla Model S . You’re obviously very proud of the thing, and that new, smooth, grille-less front is unique on the road.
Let’s say you also are fortunate enough to live in a “no front plate” state, such as Arizona. You have an opportunity to show off that front fascia in all its glory, the way the designers intended.
Now let’s say you get an aluminum license plate frame and a plate blank that says this:
Ok, there’s the setup. Now, the question is: On a scale of “Gandalf the Grey” to “Tom Huggins the stone troll,” how wise is this choice?

Did the Tesla have a snarky personalized rear plate, too? Maybe a few bumper stickers as well?
I think about this every time I see an Alfa Guilia commercial (which is every six and one-half minutes). Alfa’s in general don’t leave you with many front plate options (the 4C is similar), but their big push for US market share with the new sedan will have people scratching their heads in most of the country.

I thought every front plate state was a no front plate state for Tesla drivers. Sure seems that way in the eastside suburbs of Seattle.

States really should offer a European size/shape option for cars that don’t have a decent mounting place for American spec ones. Kind of like the European countries that offer American shaped plates for owners of American cars.
Or, alternatively, offer people the option of paying an extra fee not to have to mount a front one.

Sometimes people buy cars from front plate states and can’t remove the bracket without leaving holes.
I have no idea why my Ranger, bought in and used exclusively in NC has a front plate mount, but I just threw my university plate on there as opposed to having 2 big holes up front.
