I’ve found myself looking at the Transit Connect more and more. I don’t think I really need one but it wouldn’t be a bad car I don’t think. I could take it camping and it’d be fine for commuting. Has anyone actually driven one of these?

They feel like a tall Focus, very car-like.

I drove one as a rental. Liked it a lot. Great use of interior space while not being very big on the outside. Had a nice camera system showing 360 around the car making it a breeze to park.

If I ever have to replace the Mazda5 6MT, it’s on the short list (even though it doesn’t have a manual), but no, I haven’t driven one yet.

Our business had a 1st gen one when they first came out. It was a good small delivery vehicle but incredibly boring to drive with a very crappy and bland interior. Never gave us any issues in the 100k or so miles we put on it.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

A compact camper or a full- size five seat daily driver. The removable camping interior is both innovative in design and is packed full of features. A slide-out bed platform with comfy mattress for two adults. Ample storage and cooking facilities with a two-burner hob, electric fridge and even the kitchen sink! A 12-volt supply and a 240v mains connection point to power those little essentials. Camping interior is available separately for those who have an existing Tourneo Connect, or complete package with access to the Ford range of vehicle options.

I’ve wanted a Transit Connect for years. I just don’t have a practical need for one and my gf has zero interest in owning one. If I came into eff-you money, it would be one of my first purchases, though.

A buddy has one for mountain bike adventures/DD. He seems to love it. Huge upgrade from his dying GMC Canyon.

While I haven’t driven the Ecoboost, I wouldn’t want to buy another one without it as I feel it’d do better at things like passing at highway speeds. Mine is terrible in that respect (14 LWB cargo) but I grabbed it used at at wholesale price so I wasn’t cross shopping them yet. What I can say after years of driving vans of all sorts for work is that it handles and drives like a compact car (platform shared with the Focus etc) In fact before I loaded it up with work necessities it felt better handling than the 12 Focus we had due to less weight and what I assume to be stiffer suspension for handling cargo.

Power numbers are similar for both, but I assume the Ecoboost has more usable power when called upon. I also am not sure if the Ecoboost is only available in certain configurations. Be one hell of a sleeper though as I’m guessing there are modifications available. When my tires need replaced I plan to find some Focus wheels if they are compatible...haven’t looked into it.

The Connect seems to be taken quite well by North America, along with the full size Transit.

they have, but mostly due to not much in the segment. Chevy sells a rebadged Nissan thing (NV I think?) and it’s ugly, smaller and not as nice to be in. I also imagine When the Astro died the Transit was the best option. Now Dodge has the rebadged Fiat thing, but it’s also hideous.
