So I’m putting gas in the M3 and a dude in an X5 rolls up and parks across two spots and half the walkway. I mutter “you’re making us look bad...”
Moments later, I’m on the highway in moderate traffic, and up comes an F80 M3, windshield sized decals, etc., whose driver feels compelled to show off his fart cans as he goes by, then proceeds to cut several cars off while flying through traffic (on the right, of course). I feel like I see this stuff all the time.
I’ve been driving BMWs for a long time (my first car was a 2002), and I’ve always liked them, but the image is getting to be too much....

I understand the sentiment. My first was a 1600, and I haven’t been without one since, but that stigma is hard to ignore.

I get upset with idiots sometimes, but I have learned that asshats come in all different vehicles. My love of BMW’s outweighs whatever stereotypes drivers of them may have. At the end of the day, they are just making themselves look stupid.

I’m on the other end of the spectrum....I own a Hyundai ecobox and love small FIATs.....I am part and parcel with the past stigma of crappiness and unreliability :P

Where I live (Vancouver BC) BMW owners are in an even worse position, IMO. There are a lot of immigrants here that are drawn to BMW and they don’t care to learn how to drive around here. So as a BMW owner my awareness of the matter is elevated. So much so that I make sure to signal at all times and keep right side passes down to min. but sometimes that guy just wants to park his ass in the left lane with no one in front or in the right lane and after about 15mins I loose patience and pass on the right. I just know what’s he’s thinking and it’s not about why I passed him on the right but about what just passed him on the right.
