Frontenacs are beyond insanely rare. Somebody found one to run in LeMons a while back, but I think there are literally only a few dozen left running. Granted, it’s an insanely rare (few thousand) one-year only version of a car that was made in the several millions and not particularly desirable in the collector market, but they’re cool.

For 1400 I’d figure one of the opponauts would be jumping over this. I am waiting for someone to ask me to go check it out for them.

I would have thought even a Falcon continental kit would be a rare enough thing to be worth at least a couple hundred bucks. If I were anywhere near Florida with the funds I’d be on this like a shot, practicality be hanged. I’ve already got some miscellaneous Falcon spares left over from the Ranchero, and the ‘60 is my favorite grill - so much so that I’ve reworked mine to use one and some other parts.

I’ll say this, anybody on Oppo nuts enough to get this, I’d pretty much offer them my (disassembled) 144 Thiftpower six, three speed, and some other parts for free.

Seems like a steal to me. Heck the continental kit alone might be worth most of the ask.

Even if the body is all filler I’m thinking it’s ok.

If I was closer, I’d consider it....$1400 US for it if it checked out in decent shape is a steal for a rare car.

It’s roughly the asking price for an okay ordinary Falcon two-door, even without the continental kit and Frontenac goodies. No-brainer NP, in my opinion.

It’s been taken care of enough that they still have all the original Frontenac dog-dishes. That counts for something. Even if it’s missing the rear fender trim. It *is* however the LeMons one.

It’s the LeMons one. I never had seen it painted, but see here:

Oh wow- was wondering about the 3 on the side. Figures since these are so rare.

Still, I’d offer 1100 and happily come to a deal in between. And I’m from Chicago not Canada.

I like that the rear fender spears were one of the first things I looked for and that I know what pretty much all the unique Frontenac parts are despite never having seen a list of them* and never having seen one in person. I need to find more reasonable things to be obsessive compulsive over.

* Hubcaps, grill, trunk emblem./lock cover, trunk script, horn button, rear light lens and surround, and rear fender spears - possibly also the radio - and may have *technically* had unique sheet metal for trunk and hood in the absence of F O R D and F A L C O N badging - though it’s just as likely they were provided normal hoods and filled in because Ford.

1400 bucks for it is a decent price?

If it hasn’t been too horribly beaten to death or too altered for the LeMons use - though the paint job (in that light) is more likely pretty shit and may bring the value down). I remember when it first started circulating for sale for like $1200, before those guys bought it - I think it was on Craigslist and they decided it was too deranged to pass up. A couple of the unique Frontenac trim bits aren’t still there, sadly, though I think they were missing back then too.

It’s not really a $500 car, if that’s the question.

I wonder if that price is hiding something in that case...

It *is* an ex-LeMons car, so it may have other factors making its appeal more selective. However, when they bought it the asking price was pretty close to this and I said NP then too. The thing is, there are still plenty of perfectly good Falcon two-doors out there, so going out of your way for one with funky badging is something you need a reason for... maybe. Demand is limited.

I can’t imagine the tooling was different for these. Maybe a few holes in different locations. Cool little car, even though I’m really partial to hardtops over sedans.

It’s funny that you know all that about the Frontenac. I’m a little more obsessed with the original Impala SS, myself—

I think the posting is gone. For $1,400, it might be worth a shot.

I’m not surprised. It was listed in the Miami area two months ago.
