My caliper clearance is terrifying.

Kinja'd!!!

Got some track only wheels/tires for my BRZ, it was hard finding a set that were confirmed to clear the giant Brembos and even then it’s cutting it super close. 3mm to the inner barrel of the wheel and 1mm to the wheel weights. Luckily even after getting the brakes really hot, there wasn’t any rubbing but I’m still going to look for other wheels.

Wheels are Enkei RPF1 17x8 +45. Tires are BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 235/40/17

Ah a BBK, I take a tuner seriously after that upgrade. How much did it set you back?

I had to upgrade to 15x8 6ULs when I put the BBK on my Miata. Maybe their 17x8s will have more clearance for you? http://949racing.com/17x8-6UL-5Lug.aspx

Nothing more annoying than the “clink, clink, clink, clink” from your wheel weights dragging themselves all over your calipers.

I have seen 15" wheels over BRZ stockers (rally community wanted to know right away if they could use the gravels for Imprezas on it). Some rims just barely clear (you probably couldn’t get a sheet of paper in there) and others will take the paint off. They do technically fit though.

Pssh! You got pleanty of space! You even clear the wheel weights!

Kinja'd!!!

There is no room for wheel weights on the GTO.

Time to break out the feeler gauge.

I believe the lightweight WedSsports tc105n 17x9 +35mm are what you’re after on the BRZ

Came on the car! I bought the 2017 BRZ with performance package, included Brembos on all 4 corners, SACHS Dampers, and slightly wider wheels (7.5" vs 7"). I figured since I was planning on getting a BBK anyways, one covered by a factory warranty would be best. The package was $1200 additional to the car and at that price it was ridiculous to say no to. Already ordered G-Loc R10 pads for track days, and I’m trying to find a better compound for autocross.

Thats the plan eventually! This is my DD so for the next 3 years I’m keeping it mostly stock (Tomei Headers, ecutek tune, Perrin OP, Berk HFC front pipe, Perrin 2.5" catback, some minor cosmetic stuff). I’m trying not to spend too much on parts I know I will replace in the future.

Once I get a second car (probably an STI), the BRZ is getting stripped out, caged, and turned into a track day toy.

Also unrelated to the calipers, how do you like the Potenzas? I didn’t have a tire choice since they came with the wheels for free, but those are probably my next set.

Wow! That’s a steal for all 4 corners! Lol deff more than you need though. My BFF has one, and I like to tease him that it can barely get out of its own way and how my 22yo wagon is a rocket ship by comparison.

The pads that come on it aren’t that much better than stock, but with the 2017s the butt dyne definitely feels faster with the new, shorter, diff. I got it dyno’d a month ago after my first round of upgrades and was pushing 192 at the wheels. Not enough to take anyone from a stop, but paired with the upgraded suspension and perfect steering, its a blast to drive. Definitely not the fastest thing out there, but absolutely the most smiles per gallon.

Yup, those cars handle amazingly! Almost mind numbing.

Gotcha. Well in that case I would save the money from this set towards some Volk te37sl wheels. Those are super strong and light for track duty.

How do you like the Perrin catback? How loud is it compared to stock? I’m considering an exhaust and I’m between the Nameless 2.5" with 5" muffler axleback and the Perrin 2.5" catback.

I should explain, that’s a random pic from Google. I’m still running the stock Michelins. The only mods I have so far are tint, sound tube plug, clutch helper spring delete and Tom’s tailights. Considering exhausts, wheels and RCE yellows though (might go KW or ST coilovers if I find wheels that I really like that need slimmer struts). With that said, I have a coworker with an s2000 and he had potenzas. He said they were good but tire life was horrible. He needed new tires within a year. I’ve heard BRZ guys have good luck with Direzza star specs though. And of course there’s the prerequisite Michelin PSS suggestion as always when summer tires are brought up.

I love the exhaust! When you’re cruising it’s barely louder than stock but when you get on it it gives you a nice deep rumble.

I’m planning on getting the RCE yellows eventually, gonna see how it holds up at track days before I start creating a schedule to mod it. I suspect the first thing I’ll need is an oil cooler for the hot Texas summer track days. I’m looking at Potenzas for autocross and track only and people can usually squeeze two seasons out of them
