Didn’t tell me about this:

Aren’t Tornado Warnings supposed to be pushed out to cell phones? I’ve had it happen before, but nothing this time. Storm is right over me now, might have been good to have some warning.

Stay safe Houston Oppos.

I don’t live in a Tornado area but winter storm warnings are provided by the Google app for me and aren’t something that’s pushed directly to the phone.

I think you have to have an app set to do that. This is the same line that came through Austin this morning about 2:30. Lots of noise and wind, but fortunately, no nastiness.

I’ve got the Tornado app from the Red Cross on my phone and I think it pushed out alerts from the NWS— it started going off about 2:15 this morning in the Fort Worth area.

WEA alerts are hit and miss. If the tower you are on is under the warning, you should get a push. But if you are inside the polygon but hooked to a tower outside it, you may not. It’s a good start, but smartphone apps such as iMap Weather Radio are more reliable.

Usually have to get an app to do it for you, I use Accuweather. And make sure you get a good app:
