When I got my “kub kar” kit when I was a kid. (back in the 80's) my dad and I were into 1/24 scale slot car racing at the time. After I shaped the block of wood into some sort of wedge, he drilled the chassis for slot car zero friction ball bearing axles, trued the wheels and poured molten lead into the chassis to exact “race weight”. It was a masterpiece.

I got disqualified... which we actually jokingly expected, but I learned more (and had more fun) building it with my dad than beating everyone   participating in the race would have. It always ended up being a dad competition while the kids just ran wild around a community center gym during the race back then.

That is a really nice setup though! 10/10!

I remember those axles from someone’s engineer dad’s Kub Kar, couldn’t think of where to get them. I may have done some light machining to the provided axles.
