Have you had any strut rub issues with the 17's?

No, that was an issue fixed by a good alignment.

Those vfss wheels look really good,

Idk about the offsets that fit the gto, but you could look at ctsv wheels too, I finally got mine mounted on the Caprice

G8 GXP had them too

Kinja'd!!!

As long as they are the 5 lug, they should fit, but I believe you may need spacers.

I remember it being an issue on the forums that a lot of people were having, and not all of them got fixed with an alignment. When I had mine, after they fixed the strut rub, the outside of the tire rubbed the wheel well at full lock. I never gave them the chance to fix it again, because then the lemon died on me. After they put in a new ECU in, I went straight to another dealer and traded it in.

I still miss that car. It was by far the nicest, coolest, fastest car I ever owned. I just couldn’t keep the damn thing out of a service bay to save my life.

Yeah some cars just don’t want to be fixed. I haven’t had the issue. All I know it that an alignment fixed most of them. If not then you needed new bushings. Sad you needed to get rid of yours. Mine has some issues, but being 11 years old and the previous owner only put 9700 miles on it I guess it is a little expected.

Yeah, no car is perfect. Mine was just a lemon. I owned it for 3-1/2 months, and it spent 31 days of that in the shop. Thankfully it was under warranty. Had I bought it new I could’ve lemon lawed it, but I bought it as a CPO car. I was lucky to get out from under it, and am still driving its replacement, my ‘06 Sierra crew cab.

Wow, that is a crazy amount of time in the shop. Glad the replacement is going strong though.

G8GXP wheels are actually a little different, the V wheels are very flat, while there’s more curves in the GXP wheels

V wheels are wider too :D

I did have to run a 5mm spacer at all four corners though, glad that’s all i needed lol

Yeah, it was nuts. It had to go, I was losing sleep over it. I even had to walk to work once.

The Sierra has been dead reliable for 11 years and 119k miles so far, with just regular maintenance and minimal repairs. The biggest repair it’s needed is a $500 steering rack at 100k miles. Starting to get a bit rusty, so I need to handle that before it gets out of hand. I about shat myself when I priced out a replacement truck.

Both 18". My factory 18's have been relegated to winter usage after I bought the other ones...

Yeah, 40k for a base trunk and 100k for an Escalade.... It is all fucking stupid. You’d have to buy a used truck at this point to even make sense.

Yeah, and even the used ones are crazy pricey. I paid under $22k out the door for my ‘06 (2wd base model crew cab with the 4.8). I just discovered the alignment is off, the inside shoulders of my snow tires got chewed up (the tires were due for replacement from age anyways), so off to the alignment shop I go.

Well everyone wants a used one right now cause new ones are outrageous.

Off, that sucks.

Exactly.

Eh, as much as it sucks, it’s been 2-1/2 years and 19k miles since I had to do anything but oil changes and a new set of All-Seasons. I can’t complain too much. When I got the steering rack replaced, they told me the alignment was just a little out of spec, because the adjuster on the right upper control arm was rusted solid. They said if I wanted it perfect I would need a new control arm, and gave me a shockingly reasonable estimate to do that. Obviously that’s gotten worse in the last 2-1/2 years. I guess I’ll have to bite that bullet.
