I have always loved that aircraft.
Short related story: When I was younger I grew up with the father in the Air Force. We lived at one particular base for quite some time. My father was in Security Forces, and he was flight chief. On base we had an assortment of your standard USAF airframes (F15, F16, KC135, C141, C130, C5, JSTARs and B1s). I have always been very interested in all types of planes, so when something cool landed on base for fuel or repairs, my dad would often come pick me up and take me to the flightline, introduce me to the pilots and let me see the plane. Among the various planes I was able to explore in depth and sit in was an F-14. There are few planes in my mind that are as awesome as the Tomcat. The pilot was in his 30s and was so nice to take time to show me his plane and answer any questions I had.
I was also shown aircraft I probably shouldn’t have seen, but that is a different story.

There was a local-ish painter of aircraft art that gave oodles of posters of his work to my 5th grade Sunday School teacher who was a pilot and very successful businessman. He had the guy paint a dogfight from the Battle of Britain onto the front of his hangar.
One of my favorite pictures of the guys was an F-14 in the desert in a Red Flag training exercise kind of setting. It was pretty cool.
