I hate FedEx. That’s $x for product and $x for shipping.
...And then you get a bill for $x import duties as well.
#1- Cut this shit out. Charge the duties straight up the first time. You KNOW what they will be, everything shipping across the border has to be accounted for ahead of time. If it’s wrong... THEN you can charge.
#2- “By shipping with us you agree for us to pay the duties on your behalf, and in return you will repay us at a minimum cost of $x.” Fucking. What. You’re telling me that I have to pay you $20 on something that the duties were closer to $5? Fuck.You.Sideways.With.A.Sundried.Cactus.
#3- “You could have avoided this charge by signing up for an account with a pre-approved method of payment!” Thanks for telling me now. Also, in case I missed it before, FUCK YOU.

#3 is just asking them, “here, drill a hole so let us fuck you without you even knowing we did” .
Like I was saying this wasn’t even a package that I paid shipping for, nor subject to taxes or duty. Canada Post wouldn’t even bother looking, taxes were already paid on the original purchase.

That too. But that way at least you save the minimum charge. I had a $70 item come through them, they charged me ~$18 as a minimum charge. The actual duties would have been $2-3.
USPS is slow, but both it and Canada Post are reasonably reliable.
UPS is good, Purolator is OK.
FedEx can go torch themselves.
