So I thought I’d test it out just for a quick try. I haven’t actually filmed anything for years now... It feels a bit weird starting it all over again. Things have changed haha.

Nicely done. I’ve always been somewhat interested in filmmaking but I’ve never really had the time or resources to devote to it. What kind of camera and slider are you using? I just have an old Canon T4i right now. Someday I would love to pick up a 7D MkII, but it is hard to justify the cost.

Sort of related: the image stabilizer built in to the Olympus E-M1 II is good enough to almost mimic a steadicam (go to 1:35 in the video).

Cheap Kamerar 60cm slider I bought off Yahoo-Auction for roughly 80$ (yeah, eBay is not popular in Japan lol) and I use a Kiss X4 which is a T2i in the states. Main lens is a Sigma 27mm f1.8, but I also used the stock 18-55mm for the last few shots (mirror shot, Oppo sticker and last shot because I had no space with the 27mm lol).

I’ll personnally go with a used 5D Mk3 asap along with a Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS2 as soon as I can spend the 5000$ I need for it :)

But you don’t need expensive stuff to film. My complete camera gear was pretty much entirely bought used:

T2i with stock Lens 300$ like 3 years ago, Sigma 27mm F1.8 300$, Tamron 18-270mm 250$, GoPro Hero 4 Silver 250$, GoPro Hero (basic one) 100$, steadicam 60$, slider 80$, microphone 30$, tripod 3$ (and it’s a crappy one!), Gopro accessories maybe 90$ total... some SD cards for roughly 80$ total... Batteries 50$... That’s pretty much it. All that spent over a a few years so...
