Kinja'd!!!

I was looking at Nameless axlebacks for the BRZ since I have the inexplicable desire to give it moar loud. For some reason my mind suddenly got back onto the thought of a C6 Z06. I really want one.

And I found this:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Anyways, any opponauts on here ever used Nameless parts on their Subarus? Opinions on their quality?

Seriously? MOAR loud? I just invested in some sound deadening for mine, because there’s too damn much loud already.

Well the tire noise is horrendous but the exhaust sound is rather quiet. I figure with better tires it should be quite nice to be inside.

In fairness, I can see the attraction of an exhaust bypass which kicked in at 4500rpm or so. Good sound effects when you’re getting it on really add to the fun, and the piped in induction noise gives volume but it’s not exactly an inspiring tune. I just wouldn’t want it any louder when I’m cruising.

Precisely why I am thinking about the Nameless axleback. It’s supposed to be really subdued below 4000rpm and come alive above 4500rpm. Have you done the induction tube plug mod? It really helps.

Nah, not yet. Figured I’d deal with the road noise first then see whether the induction noise at cruising speed bugged me. It doesn’t at the moment - the only time it’s irritating is when you give it some juice at low revs in a high gear, and get angry noises which rub it in how little actual acceleration you’re getting

So there’s some dynamat and some MLV sitting in the garage, and next weekend the interior’s coming out.

Good point. I commute in stop and go traffic so I plugged it within the first week. Cost 75 cents and was well worth it. The angry engine sounds are definitely depressing. Especially when I shift into second going 8mph since it’s annoyingly loud buzzing along at 3000rpm but then it makes angry noises in second at 1500rpm. There’s no winning in traffic.

You wasted 75c! Apparently the plastic cover on the power socket in the glovebox is a dead fit - nice Easter Egg if it’s deliberate.

Yes, I can see where it would wear thin in stop-go. My commute’s about 10 mins of “I dream of 8mph” snarl up to cross a few downtown blocks, followed by 20 mins of open freeway. Plus I regularly travel a couple of hours downcountry on chipseal roads to visit family. So it’s open road cruising that’s my bugbear.

My dads C7 has this and now I’m considering it for my S600. Straight pipe V12 goodness...

Counterpoint. What about the Pagani-esque straight pipe for your s600? Extra brap brap

Not sure where you got that a Z06 would be a first car for anybody here...

I may have replied to the wrong article about a C6Z (since there have been so many in a row), but one article had a link to a Z for sale, and on the ad it said ‘Perfect first car.’
