Took pills that handle the sneezing and sniffles but my freaking eyes itch so bad I’m about to rub them out of their sockets. I’m seriously considering looking into some kinda eye washing adapter for a home sink. It will also come in handy when it’s time to rinse out the shit posts.

Do drugs work for you? Have you seen a doctor about it?

I know a huge amount about allergies and can possibly help. Mine are so bad that the highest doses of every pill I’ve tried barely works...

I normally have very strong allergies, be it to cats, pollen or tons of other stuff... For some reasons, everything seems to be gone for this year. I thought it was just cats first, but my wife is now hit by allergies like crazy and me... nothing. Not sure why really...

It’s usually sneezing and tears, but this time it’s postnasal drip. I wake up every morning with a bad sore throat.

First week of June is the beginning of my hell. My eyes burn with the fury of 1000 suns.

Every year varies for me. This year the pine tree pollen has hit hard and early. The streets, cars and every surface outside are yellow. Typically I can do a does of normal meds and get by ok. So far this year has been bad. Never done the doctor route because over the counter stuff typically helps enough to get me by for the 2 months of the year that I get bad allergies.

Recently moved and as a result the tolerance I built up has kinda been screwed by all the different pollen. I’ll certainly live just rough for a month or two while spring does its thing.

I have been with a customer and said excuse me I have to sneeze. I then proceed to sneeze a dozen times.

I’m needing to get back on the antihistamines. The best thing I ever got for my eyes was some drops that have steroidal anti-inflammatory in them. A drop in each eye once a day is all it takes.

Antihistamine Cetirzine 10 mg every 24hm. Zaps all symptoms within 30 minutes except the itchy eyes. At it’s peak I’m better but as it wears off I suffer. I take it in the morning that way I sleep through most of the rough stuff. I should add that I spent most my life in western ny and recently moved to NC so I think I’m just lacking the game plan to handle the difference in geography.

I had very bad seasonal allergies for years and had to rely on antihistamines nearly everyday. I then cut out most dairy (i.e., the milk in my coffee and having cereal+milk for breakfast) and my allergies were 80-90% better last year.

Everybody is different, but for me cutting down dairy consumption really helped.

Yeah, geographic changes can be brutal. My body never caught up to changes after moving from my childhood home. Decades now...

You could up your dose to 20mg and see if it helps. Then if that doesn’t work, try 30mg. Don’t take more than 30mg in a day.

I’ve found that the nasal sprays work well for me. Some years mine have been so bad I was taking antihistamines like candy

Zaditor or Alaway drops (ketotifen) are great, safe allergy drops. Don’t use anything that says “get the red out”, that stuff is toxic. Don’t use tap water- just Google “acanthamoeba keratitis” and you’ll see why. Good luck. Because this is not professional advice and don’t sue me if your head explodes or your eyes melt.

Why do you say that? Loratadine and Cetirizine have adult dosage ranges of 10-30mg. I’d probably give 20mg 4-5 days before increasing the dose, but it’s safe regardless.

My immediate family has serious seasonal allergies. We’ve taken every pill under the sun for them in every dosage level (all of the now-OTC ones were prescribed to me when they were new, with the above two ranging up to 30mg), I’ve been prescribed cocktails of them... They sometimes worked a bit, but eventually my body stopped responding to them (usually after 1 season).

My allergies are so bad that the pills barely mask it now and I have to get steroid shots once or twice a year (depending on the length and severity of the season) to suppress my immune system.

Came here to second the zaditor or alaway drops. I take Zyrtec but my eyes are still itchy and those things are a lifesaver.

I have been lucky so far but once we get farther into summer I get allergies pretty damn bad. I just keep a bottle of eye drops in my car and some zyrtec.
