I used some special products sent to me by Oppos own resident detailer expert Svend on the i3 (thanks again Svend!!) to protect the week old shiny paintwork. Just used stuff I already had in stock on the Leon as it really needs a good decontamination and polish (even though it’s only 7 months old!) before I put the good stuff on her!

Note to self, doing two cars in one day is a bit much for my old bones, feel a wee bit stiff today!!

Seriously, these garden kneeling pads are a godsend.
Just kneel down and no crouching.
Sure there’s the getting up again but I lean on the car if necessary and then wipe any hand print off.

Only problem is my brother has seen these pics and wants me to do their i3 and Jeep Renegade now. At least 4 times today while I was down there (North Wales, was down for Mothers Day) he kept saying “Oh your car is so shiny, wish mine were like that too, hint, hint” (I was in the Leon). Told him I can give him a list of the products he needs to get!!

The bottom one can be had from most DIY places.
B&Q have a Mac Allister version for £19.

There is an upholsterers down the road from me, so I thought I may ask to see if they could make a foam board I can attach or sit inside the underside to use it as a kneeling board like a
so I could use the legs as support to get up as the legs lock into place.
I find it hard to justify spending money on me if I have something that just about does the job. There is a detailing belt that could hold the stuff I need for going round the car, but it’s £45. I can’t justify that for something I could just use a couple of seconds to walk around and pick up.

I have one criteria. Do they care about the car?
If the answer is, ‘it’s just a tool to get from A to B’, or ‘it’s alright I guess’, etc... then my answer is always no.
If they don’t care about their car, no reason for me to.
