I’m kind of surprised they haven’t taken the roof off and undercut the current Miata/Fiata. Assuming prices wouldn’t raise too much, that would be a decent way to attract a wider base without worrying about cannibalizing sales from the wrx...

Honestly. We live in a period where cars have ridiculously cheap power, but all people do is bitch about the few cars that have two doors but aren’t muscle cars. And at 6.4 second for 0-60, it’s not like they’re even slow.

To a point, but I think Toyota makes it’s purpose obvious enough. Here’s the first two paragraphs about it on their website.

Yeah, but they also refer to the Corolla as a “thrill ride” and they list the CVT option as “driving fun.”
