Kinja'd!!!

Before I empty my iPhone’s internal memory onto a hard drive I figured I’d take the car pictures that I’ve taken over the past two months and post them to Oppo; here are the weirdest, oldest, or just coolest cars of my recent past.

I’ve always loved that interior, so clean and simple.

2 Volvo household? Here, have some approval.

Other day I saw a fiat in the rear view, but it wasn’t a 500 and certainly not a Fiata. Had 2 small hood vents both on the driver side, looked like a kei car version of a 2000's Forester... Also had Washington plates. Any ideas?

Agreed; Stephen Harper hit it out of the park with this one. Perhaps the best of the “floating console” era and it makes the relatively tiny interior feel a lot more spacious; however, the lack of adequate and convenient cubbies is frustrating!

Thanks! They’re old and dog-eared but run great for the most part *knock on wood*

Hmm, did it look more like an ‘80s car or later? Because there was the original Ritmo with hood vents but on the other side...

Kinja'd!!!

And the new Uno with the asymmetrical grille...

Kinja'd!!!

Any ideas?

Hmm. Definitely newer, mid-90's at the earliest. It completely stumped me. Wish I could have grabbed a picture

Are you sure it was a Fiat? Because it sounds like you’re describing a first-gen Renault Twingo!

Doubt it’s the Ritmo, and they’re called Stradas where I come from.

Kinja'd!!!

But yeah, considering only the early models had those grilles (and they look nothing like a 2000s Forester), the chances of finding one are pretty slim.

It might be the Panda instead, but even then I don’t think it was that big on your side of the pond.

Kinja'd!!!

The Uno fits the description best.

Kinja'd!!!

Random side note:

The Uno was a very popular subcompact here in the 80s and early 90s. So, the South American Uno is a nameplate revival.

Hahaha not a twingo, but possibly just a fiat badge..? I’ve looked through all fiat automobiles and haven’t found anything with the vents, but they could be aftermarket or a higher trim level. I’ll post the question here, hopefully someone will know!!

Ah, so that’s why I didn’t remember it as the Ritmo either! Yep, it’s the Strada in my mind as well, but I couldn’t for the life of me remember that. I was thinking Panda, but that’s an asymmetrical grille not hood vent although I can’t think of any car that has drivers’ side hood vents as the OP states. I remember the Uno! Well, not personally, but it was a credible 205 GTi alternative, wasn’t it? As far as hot hatches go not a bad little car!
