Question About Display Ramps

For anybody in a dealership, or I suppose a mechanic, or also I suppose anybody who knows more than me (everybody); does leaving a vehicle on those really steep display ramps have any negative consequences for any of the fluid filled bits? Like say an engine or transmission? I have no reason to ask other than 100% curiosity. Every time I see one it gets me wondering. Does it not matter at all? The trucks / Jeeps I’ve seen like this tend not to move all too often.

I’ve wondered about that too. I imagine that the surface tension (and resistance to evaporation) of the fluid would keep the internals coated. But I still wonder about seals like the rear main, and the transmission tailshaft seal. Are they supposed to be able to hold back a wall of fluid? I thought they only prevented splash from leaking out.

The only thing about them I’ve ever wondered is: Has anyone jumped a car off of them?

A Ford Dealership in Superior Wi, almost always has a Raptor, or lofted Platium F-150 in a spinning carousel.

Looking at that particular one I wondered “has any ever used one to work on their car?”

Less bad than what GM did with the Vega anyway:

Didn’t GM even go to fairly great lengths so they would survive this?

I’ve had cars start leaking from being parked for days or weeks at a time on an angle like this.

Yes, they were designed for this. But designed by ‘70s GM, so I’m not sure how much that was worth...

Good question!

These are the random little curiosities that don’t matter at all (to me) yet I’m particularly intrigued by.

Even if it was today’s GM, it probably wouldn’t be worth much.

As someone who regularly parked on steep hills due to where he lived, they’ll be fine.

Can I have the Harley Davidson F150? If it is supercharged just go ahead and drop it off at my place.
