What do you use to get them nice and clean like that?

Car soap and a rag. I used wheel cleaner the last time I cleaned them and since I used that last time, they were easier to clean this time.

I find it amusing your DD is 2 doors and your Sports Car is 4 doors.

I’m running those same tires on mine, in lieu of snow tires. I don’t drive it enough in winter to make the sacrifice. I can’t get them to hook up for a damn though. I don’t street race as a rule, but any attempt at leaving a stoplight in a hurry results in instant wheel spin. What’s your experience?

Incidentally, I’ve only got them on my front. I’m not sure how I like them. I’ve got Pilot Sport 2s on the back, and I don’t think I like them. I was thinking abut putting some of the AS3s on the back when I need new rears and the PS2s hate rain and will light up when I try to accelerate too hard, even in like a July Texas day. I like the idea of all seasons since I do now live in GA, but it made it fine through a GA winter in summer tires. I’m going to do some research when I get new tires. This was my first foray into a car that wasn’t a 1997 Explorer and I could have done some things better like choosing tires, but it’s been a learning experience.

When I got the 128i I was joking I got a coupe that way when some girl told me I could only have 1 BMW I’d have to get rid of the 128i because it was less practical. In all honesty, I had planned on only having the M3 at a time, and it’s just worked out where I’ve been able to have 2 cars. I really like the way the non-M coupes looks and I didn’t really want another E90. Had to change it up, even if it’s another E9X.

I beg to differ...

Granted, I’ve never been able to get my rims (of a similar style, 11 spoke maybe?) fully cleaned so that makes me a skeptic/pessimist on the subject.

I’d much rather have simple 5-spoke rims (which I do, with my snow tires) that are far easier to clean.

Nice looking wheels, great clean up too

I feel ya from cleaning E32 basketweaves and E38 (20-spoke?) 750iL wheels :P

The ‘99 M3 had Pilot Sport A/S for a while and they lasted a little longer than regular PS 2's but sure were noisier, def. didn’t handle better, and I couldn’t tell a darn bit of improvement in rain or cold. Even I wasn’t stupid enough to try snow in that M3.

I’m not sure if I like them or not, they seem like they’re decent tires. Have to decide if I want to put them on the back or get something else.

I’ve had PS2s as well and I think I can safely say that if you didn’t like them, you will hate the AS3s. They don’t turn to hockey pucks in the cold, but they just don’t have the same grip as a proper performance tire.

Pfft, that’s because you wanna do it the hard way. Drive to landromat, take off wheels, stick ‘em in the tumblewash with some brake cleaner, done. Play with your switch while you wait.
