Every year on his birthday, a radio station here in Houston plays nothing but George Strait songs. A few years ago, George himself called in. He was driving through town and couldn’t figure out why there were no other singers being played. Apparently, he had no idea the station did that to honor him every year.

This is one the of the few country songs in recent years that feels modern yet has that touch of old school to it. I guess that’s what happens when it is done by one of the greats of a genre.
