Two Brits and a German are now en route to Amsterdam on the DFDS ferry!
Unfortunately on the way to the ferry terminal a Transit Connect decided to rear end me in stationary traffic.
The towbar took the majority of the impact, but the bumper is broken and the boot panel is fairly well dented. Great start! I also forgot to reattach my front splitter properly so it’s held on with duct tape now.
Assuming I don’t crash on my way through Holland, I might actually have four wheels left on the car by the time we get to Spa.

The roads in Holland are pretty good and the driving is not as bad as southern England. They are great people and all speak perfect English but if you go into a bar, remind them your English and not Dutch and to keep pouring, the Dutch may like creamy foam heads on their beer, but foam head is not beer.
Be careful of the roads in the city centres. The bollards come right up to the kerb side and the corners are at sharp angles so if you can, swing out a little and then turn. Otherwise you’ll take the turn and come out on the wrong side of the road.
Don’t go into a supermarket car park unless you intend to buy something, you’ll need the receipt to open the car park barrier to get out.
