Our friend came by and split some more of the birch tree for us. Rhetorical question: is there anything denser than birch? “Well—” NO. We had cuts that three people couldn’t even budge.
Anyway do you notice all the stone/brick? Fun fact: when the previous owners did their remodel in the 80s, they removed their chimney and just left it in the yard! It was hidden by the overgrown jungle and had become a crumbling safety hazard over time once we started major landscaping.
I was having a semi-rough time at work two weeks ago, so I looked searched for mindless project. In the pouring rain, I went out with a hammer and peacefully disassembled the the structure. You can’t throw concrete or brick in the dump here, so I have to take them to a cetain facility or a topsoil place for some large fee, but hey. A small price to pay for getting MAH YARD BAHK.

Sorry, but that’s a no from me. Giving away free wood has been a nightmare, I don’t see it going better with brick. I don’t want people coming to my house, I don’t want a lady in a sedan to pull up and ask me to load them, I don’t want a guy in an old C15 picking through EACH individual brick, picking the best 12 and wasting 2 hours of my day.
In short, I hate craigslist.

I put a furnace out front, CL ad said “Dead furnace for scrap. Scrappers come get this furnace”
Three hours later I’m getting a text from the guy who picked it up wondering if I had wiring schematics
Had to tell him “breh, that thing is fuckered up good. Please don’t install it, I don’t want the deaths of you and your family on my head”
I don’t know if he installed it or not
But I never heard from him again

Its the same on the worst coast, we would have to pay for disposal and processing. It was easier for my dad to sell it on CL a pallet of brick like yours was gone within two days after dealing with lowballers. I’m guessing your CL experience have been less than stellar as the usual consensus among oppos?

Well I asked nicely; that’s about all he’s getting.
To be fair, a new control board and draft inducer would probably bring the thing back to usability. But it was nearing 30 years old when we pulled it out, and was installed in an attic, so I highly doubt it’ll last much longer
