I strongly dislike how the previous two generations of Honda Civic had a “computer mouse” or “egg” shape where the front end/hood sort of blended into the windshield and rest of the car at a very shallow angle. This resulted in a pillars that originate very far forward of the car and a the hood and windshield looking much like the same feature. Frontward visibility isn’t fabulous and you’re left with a four-foot-deep dashboard. Ostensibly this is done for aerodynamic reasons but I live outside the realm of mortal men so I photoshopped a Civic with the a pillar in a more traditional layout. Isn’t that much nicer? It actually looks like a coupe! Original for comparison.

Probably not possible for engine/tranny packaging reasons. However, I think the 4-door version from this era was one the best looking cars on the road. Much nicer than the coupe, which looked “unfinished” due in part to the flow you mention. The car ended too abruptly.

I just sat in a 1st gen Nissan Murano a few days ago. Same issue. Has a dash like a Lumina van.

I liked the Eighth Gen when they first cam out back in 2005.
They altered slightly in that time.
The Ninth Gen wasn’t much of a change at all.
Though if you look hard you can see many slight differences but they blend in and simply become, meh.

There were three different types, North American, Asian-Pacific and European.
