It comes with a fucking transbrake. The car was designed to compete and win in a drag competition. I never thought I’d see the day when this kind of valve body made it into a production car. You could run a beefed up TR6060 but you’d bust more parts and not be nearly as consistent.

The next Demon teaser will probably be showing off the chute mount.

Right, what part of bracket-racing do these people fail to comprehend?

Every single time a Challenger is brought up on the FP people start comparing it to a Camaro and a Mustang and lambasting it because “it’s too heavy to do well around a racetrack blah blah blah”

The core concept, obviously.

“Well, there goes drag racing, they can just electronically control EVERYTHING”

Motherfucker have you not heard of Racepak?

No... The “Internet Car Person” will demand EVERYTHING they want in a perfect car, manufacturer will make said car, then people won’t buy it (including ICP), then ICP will bitch again when said manufacturer discontinues the car..

More specifically, it’s a drag car.

It is auto only.

It has a transbrake.

It has a line lock.

It comes with drag radials.

It comes with a roll/harness bar.

It comes with one seat.

It comes with skinnies.

And yet all we hear is HURR DURR it can’t take corners. Well, no shit. Why can’t your rally car tow an 11,000lb horse trailer like a diesel pickup?

The extent to which a muscle car needs to be able to not go straight is “can it, with mods, by made into something like an early ‘70s SCCA Trans Am competitor around the twisties”. Anything beyond that is getting greedy.

I bet the Bluetooth compatibility is top notch.

The funny thing is, the best Bluetooth system I’ve ever used was in my Abarth. Worked every time and operated seamlessly.

Well we know which part wasn’t Italian made.

I think the only Italian made part was the transmission and, surprise, it was the most finicky. It liked to lock into reverse without actually being in reverse. It even came with a warning that said if you go to reverse the car and you hear a rattling sound, shift it back into first, then into reverse again.

It’s because the Challenger competes against the Mustang and Camaro yet it’s the only of the 3 that hasn’t become a good handling car.

Weight matters for straight speed, too. And as someone that’s driven a Challenger and drives a Mustang, the Challenger really is an enormous car.

I didn’t even read the article because my internal response after seeing the headline was “Yeah? no-kidding...it’s for the strip...did anyone think it would?”

The Challenger’s also the only one of the 3 that has a usable back seat and actual interior space. If you forget names for a second and just go by class, the Challenger’s a size up. Like saying the Ranger and Colorado compete with the Ram.

I take exception to actual interior space because the Mustang has TONS of interior space, it just doesn’t have any headroom in the back.

Or leg room. I mean nobody expects it too, since it hasn’t for 50 years, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s smaller. If they had different names, they wouldn’t really be considered competitors.
