Me, 4muddyfeet and schaefft will drive our cars onto one of these big floaty cars. Itll take us from the UK to mainland Europe to go to the first europpomeet. I’m incredibly excited to meet all the other people attending and to finally see the nurburgring for the first time. This is going to be awesome.

We’re taking a 16 hour ferry followed by 170 miles of driving just to get to Belgium from where we live haha.
Put a post up to see if there are enough oppos near you to do a meet, you never know. Not everyone attending our meet is a regular poster.
But we shall! Itll be well documented I’m sure.

I think you’re mistaking me (Rob) for Wout, who lives in Belgium. Google Maps indicates about 936 km for me, and that’s the fastest route Groningen-Spa-Nurburgring-Groningen without any detours and camping visits and whatnot.

No it’s just that I always forget how big the Netherlands really are. Also, you couldn’t live further north in the Netherlands if you wanted to.

You’re pulling my leg, right? If I drive from my home in the north east to the south west it’s only 350 km. You can’t drive much more in this country without taking detours or going in circles. Belgium is even smaller and I don’t think we need to talk about Luxembourg.
For comparison Brest-Cannes is a 1400 km drive. Or if I want to visit my girlfriend I drive 900 km (one way). That’s almost 3 times the longest citytrip I can take within this tiny country.

Man 16 hours is long. How does taking the ferry compare with the Chunnel in terms of time and cost?

Its significantly more than the tunnel, but I live 300 miles from the tunnel. Once you factor in UK fuel cost it works out pretty similar price wise, plus its much more convenient.
