Greetings Opponauts, up for consideration of Nice Price or Crack Pipe today are 2 1984 VW Golf GTi’s for the low low price of $0.

Now what makes the price so low? Well all you get are the bodies. All guts have been removed. No pesky engine, transmission, or interiors to worry about. Nervous about an LS swap, no need to worry as this is simply an LS insert.

What say you Oppo, can your body handle these bodies or is it just not right for you.

I am tempted to be honest. Mk1 GTIs are expensive as hell in Europe. Would restore one and VR6 swap the other one.

I’m really racking my brain for “idiotic idea for two GTI bodies” and the best I’ve gotten so far is slicing them both lengthwise to make a ~1.75x wide GTI abomination. Maybe with a transversely mounted 2JZ.

You’d need to source a lot of parts for either option though. These are nothing but shells, it must be easier and cheaper to use a non-GTi mk1 Golf.

I know that and just thought about what I would do to these cars (shells). Personally I prefer Mk2 Golfs to be honest.

I do too. Still own my first car, a mk2 Golf. I stopped caring about VW after the mk2, but that’s just me.

About everyone I know owns or has AT least owned a VW product in their life. I must say I’m quite fond of our Golf Plus blob on wheels after 2 1/2 years driving it. Guess I suffer from the Wolfsburg syndrome lol.

I believe so, yes. I was almost certain I could recall such a thing being done.
