So, I recently had the clutch replaced on the 733, as it exploded rather violently on a recent trip.
I got the car back, and the transmission feels new. Awesome. Or it would be, except now the car has a super rough idle, and off-throttle it pops and spits fire.
Full throttle though, it runs better than ever. I can’t figure it out at all.
Could ignition timing have changed? Any ideas oppo?

Did someone give it a cam while you weren’t looking..?
Whatever it is, if it spits fire leave it that way

not much going on with these engines. You can run them with almost all the sensors disconnected. I think you only need the crank Pos sensor and the coolant temp sensor connected.
Try disconnecting the AFM and idle control valve. see if anything changes. I don’t know enough about the older M30, but I’ve spent WAY to much time debugging issues with the M30B35.

That’s exactly what it feels like. And if I can prevent it from dying at idle, I may very well keep it this way.

Will do tomorrow when I have off. I didn’t even think to check the AFM

Yo, you go to Embry-Riddle right? Our paddocks are like directly across from each other at FSAE Michigan, you here with them?
