Something nice and something nasty this morning. First, the nice. Would you want this design?

Kinja'd!!!

I could live happily there. Next, the nasty. This really grosses me out, and I am not sure why.

Kinja'd!!!

Do you find this apparently well done tattoo utterly repulsive, as I do? If this is yours, I am sorry.

Seems a bit overkill. You could get rid of 4/12 cars and have like double the living area and still room for 8 cars. Some people don’t know how to prioritize...

Different strokes for different folks though.

I don’t hate it. Maybe reduce it to two full length bays, plus a smaller half length bay for your bikes. That would increase your living space, and make the hall in the entry wider.

Is this just a place to go to get away from my wife and kids, or am I supposed to live there with them? Because it obviously doesn’t work if you have even 1 kid.

You gotta really love an AE86 to get that tattoo. Not the route I’d go, but I’ve never owned a car for more than four years, so I should get a car tattoo anyway.

Just get rid of one of the EF Civics and shrink the Mini’s parking space.

There are no doors directly to the work space, so I have to carry whatever heavy object I’m working on around and over a lot of valuable cars. Where is the lift? Do I have to move cars every time I want to ride a motorcycle (which will be as often as possible)? Do I have to shimmy around a bike every time I want into the garage? This is a poor floor plan IMO.

This layout sucks. You have to move a car to get to the Mini.

I’m all for having space for cars, but that’s ridiculous.

Get rid of one row of vehicles and you still have room for 6 cars, and some of the bike parking. Then you can expand the arcade. Also by doing that you have a usable kitchen and living room. Not to mention then you can move the bathroom out from within the kitchen. A bathroom in a kitchen is NEVER a good idea.

Also, there’s no interior entrance to the garage. Or entrance to the back yard.

Realistically I would only need 2/3 of that garage, but considering my list is more along the lines of: Phaeton, Touraeg V10 TDI, Allroad 2.7T, ‘03 RS6, S600, E55 AMG Wagon, E38 750iL, and an 850Ci the spaces would have to be much longer and wider.

Regardless, it’s not nearly enough house.

Layout - don’t hate it, but I would tend to echo some of the thoughts on two rows: if more than 2-3 cars are stranded behind other cars it tends to imply some things will not be driven. Might also be good to shift the column line if possible so that the slots are a little deeper.

Tattoo: I kind of think it’s a mistake on a couple of fronts, but some are debatable. For one, “excitement”. Being monocolor linework is interesting and it’s intricate, but “oh, a cutout of a car” only goes so far to catch the eye, and it requires a lot of fine work to be eyecatching, fine work that will slump out of alignment and muddy together. It needs to stay 100% non-distorted to “work”, unlike a lot of other complex pattern tats. All the detail also means it’s really big for what it is, and while it needed to be a cutaway to have enough detail to catch the eye, that also takes some of the “zip” out of it, more.

I’m also not really sold on the location, and as you said, there’s something of a hard-to-pin-down “this doesn’t work” sense.

Even if there were a interior door to the garage, you couldn’t open the damn thing. As it stands right now you have to climb over a bike to get in.

The garage house plan doesn’t even have space for a lift, therefore it fails.

The 86 in the tattoo looks like the artist drew it from memory and had it mixed with a fourth-gen Celica.

I’d expand on it a little with two additional bedrooms with skylights with photo chromatic glass for natural lighting during the day.

Two recessed scissor lift work bays and one recessed scissor lift detailing bay.

Full length skylight over the garage area.

Games room with adjoining bar room with glass walls looking into the garage area.

Two items, one that it going to be difficult to get things in that detailing bay, I say scrap it and expand the master bedroom and give it a larger bath. Two I would scrap the bathroom right off the kitchen, you want someone dropping a deuce while you are cooking? Other than moving placement of some stuff, bathrooms should share walls to reduce piping costs, it looks pretty good. I would use bay 5/6 for my tow trailer storage.

I like the idea, but I want a functioning house with a large detached barn type garage. Not a house built around a garage.

Plus I only like 5 of those cars.

Kitchen needs to be bigger. Scrap the dining room and expand the kitchen and family room. Keep the bar though. Eat at bar or at couch in family room. or have a patio outside with a nice table and lawn chair set.

Scrap two of the bike stalls, put a hall bathroom there, double master bath size. Having to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom is a terrible design.

Also, I think I’d rather have fewer stalls, and have lifts in some of them to stack the lower profile cars.

I need whatever software this is, so I can play with these kinds of layouts.

A little too cramped for me. I’d want the cars spread out more. Single-stack them and leave a couple full bays with lifts in front of the work area... It also needs a tire storage area.

I hope you never want to ride the motorcycles boxed in by that paperweight Countach...
