I understand your gripe, but shooting brakes will always be polarizing. They either look great or they look horrible. And to look great, they have to take some risks. This looks like they didn’t want to do that. Why is the pillar so thick? Why does the roof droop so much? Why isn’t it longer? It seems like they were trying to be safe with the design, and there are very few safe shooting brakes that actually look good.

I like the idea but sadly they didn’t really add much functionality. Really all they did was make it look different and take away 90% of rear visibility.
The thing is at that angle it looks like the roof is flat, but in reality it still slopes at angle, so rear cargo space isn’t that much better, which is the whole point of a hatchback. Take for example the Z3 M coupe. Part of the reason it is loved, or hated is that they almost completely squared off the roof line and added a ton of rear cargo space.The problem is the aerowagen is a styling package not a utility package. It is the Nissan Juke of Corvettes.

I think that would look a lot nicer. I have to imagine aerodynamic concerns are why the designers aren’t going with a design like this. Unfortunately, I think the compromise looks dumb.
