Edd was the foundation of the show. Mike is lousy at what he’s suppose to be good it.

this is now a tribute thread. my favourite moment was when Edd broke the this one piece dome. I’ve never related more, and it was some genuine drama on the show.

in general, my favourite thing about Edd was how he explained the simple mechanical tasks, that was both interesting and entertaining.

Nah. Hosts of British shows about blokes buying cars and then handing it over to mechanics are:
Wheeler Dealers: Mike and Edd
Car SOS: Tim and Fuzz
For the Love of Cars: Phillip and Ant.
Wheeler Dealers is the only one to head Stateside though which is a shame because #looks around to make it’s safe# it was the worst of the 3.

I’d rather have Mike leave, lets be honest, he doesn’t have a purpose.
And have Ant join Edd finding and fixing cars.
The whole crap of finding and fixing a car is one thing but the selling a car for a profit bit which turned out (like Car SOS) actually used other shops for some of the work and used family, friends and staff as ‘members of the public’ who had come to look and buy the car.
I hope Edd finds something else for TV, I’m sure it’ll be great.

Edd’s explanations of those tasks were the very reason I loved the show. I don’t have cable anymore, but if I did I wouldn’t bother watching without Edd.

Wheeler dealers is my favorite show on velocity. Hopefully the new guy is equally knowledgeable.
I wonder if they fired him for the 1910's caddilac debacle.

lol, yeah. Edd on twitter said the race was NEVER going to happen for legal reasons, and Mike on twitter was saying they did the race, or were going to do the race at some later point.

That’s a bummer because Edd seems more down to earth/friendly than Mike who should’ve left a long time ago. Mike is too pushy and demanding and have to say that Edd probably was sick of all the small tiny cars he couldn’t fit in. Edd is the mechanic that I’d love to trust my car too even if it’s a 2010.
