It’s just a gimmick. It’s less useful than actually using your feet to change stuff or look at your fridge before leaving for the grocery store. And it’s less useful if everything has its own companion app because then your phone is going to be all cluttered and you won’t be able to find that one app because you’re too stupid to just search for it. I think it’s stupid and people that buy that crap deserve what they’ve got coming in terms of privacy/security.
