I’m 100% remote and so is about 2/3 of the team. I sort of miss the smalltalk of a workplace, but not really. Rather be commenting on Jalopnik.

It’s beautiful outside and I’m slowly dying in my “garden level” ahem*basement*ahem office. I’m leaving an hour early to go home and cut down as many trees as I can before I have to pick up my son.

My work desktop somehow thought it was a good idea to run a 3 hour long anti-virus scan during business hours, grinding everything including Office to a halt with constant “Not Responding” everywhere. Really hate managed desktops.

I’ve found that manufacturing something you need to do urgently at the end of the meeting is sufficient enough to allow you to say things like ‘I’m really sorry guys, but can we get all the boring meeting stuff out of the way first so I can dash of to X’.
Works an absolute charm. None of the others are going to check up on what you’ve made up to be doing, because they’re interested in the waffle of the meeting, and anyone else that comes with you is going to be grateful that you’ve given them the excuse to follow you ;)

I was walking toward a 3 hour meeting scheduled for an hour and and half when it suddenly became fucked this Shit o’clock. I deeked to the sales office and shot the shit until they closed the Door, then went back to my dept.
