First run of the year! My RE71R tires weren’t in yet so I raced on my crap all-seasons which was a squishy slidey disaster but still had fun. Click past for fancy video. Obligatory selfie with matching Miata shirts

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

The video is an app called TrackAddict in conjunction with an OBD2 dongle. I also took lots of pictures at the race which will be coming soon. Ignore my terrible driving.

I also got a nifty alcantera brown shift boot which my mom made up for me. Pretty swank, though I couldn’t find any material that comes even reasonably close to matching my seats.

Lucky you! Considering we got 2 feet of snow just last week, our first event isn’t for about 5 more weeks (winter weather permitting).

*can’t ignore*

You were out of sync on that last slalom, start turning between the cones, not at the cones. Also try holding the throttle at a set position when going through the slaloms to help with consistency. It’s a lot easier to repeat the same steering movements over and over if your speed stays constant rather than lifting and getting back on the throttle between turns (and then figuring out how much more/less steering you need to use with each weave).

Also, nice shift boot! I need to replace mine as it’s -almost- too taunt to comfortably get my shifter into 5th gear unless its warmed up.

Yeah, that was the first run and I was mostly dicking around. Incredibly sloppy tires mean that steering inputs take like a half second to be felt. It’s ridiculous.
