Went to Naka-Kon in Kansas City last weekend, an annual anime/gaming convention that my girlfriend wanted to go to.
We did a couples cosplay as Yoko and Kamina from the excellent show Gurren Lagann. It’s been a while since GL was culturally relevant so we were the only ones doing a cosplay of it.
Sadly I’m not that much taller than my girlfriend :/
Turn the cheese up to 11, kiddos.
Tiny car came in handy when every other parking space was occupied.
The downside of such an, er, summer cosplay is that when Kansas does crap like this it’s pretty unbearable.
I found a Bonneville
I DERKENED MAH TAIL LIGHTS SO DEY DON’T WERK AS GUD
Some off-road shop was doing an advertising bit. At one point they said “what if my oil pan catches on the car?” to which the response was “Don’t tell the boss”. Classy.
JDM Initial D arcade machine. The physics in this game are hilarious/impossible
There was a formal dance. Doing it right? Girl on the left was in a hand-made hoop dress that was a replica of the one from Beauty and the Beast. Wish I got a picture of it because it was *epic*
Chibi Jojo Plushie? Naturally.
Girlfriend’s love of dancing to J-pop and K-pop came in handy when she kicked everyone’s ass at this dance game.

What is this I don’t even...but I can talk cars. I honesly haven’t seen that generation Bonneville in YEARS. Talk about a formerly common car that seems like it disappeared. And the Dodge Stratus, too. I’m shocked either of those have made it through 20 snowy, salty winters intact.

I would agree except I couldn’t see *anything* while wearing them. Bought them from ebay, I believe. They need to be about 2x larger, which I could easily do if I owned a laser cutter. But I don’t :(

I desperately need to go to a Con, maybe at least the Renn Faire slightly up north. So many oppo-tunities for cute costumes!!!!
I used to go to Renn Faire in my “pre-Mercedes” days, but let’s be honest, none of the garbs, costumes, and cosplays for the guys did nothing for me (Captain Hindsight applies here). But ohmg, I can have so much fun now!!!

Renfairs are awesome. I went to the Minnesota Ren Festival last year and it was amazing, even though it was drizzling and cold (aka typical England weather for more authenticity)

Imagine that, right? More like the fact you don’t have to drive the cars, just tap the brakes into a hairpin and it practically drifts for you. If you try to actually control the car you’ll find yourself in the wall.

They so are!!! I love the one we have in Bristol, WI. But I never really got “into it”. I so do now. Aaaaaaaaaagh crap! We have to go! I figure Miss Tesla will probably be some Nintendo character...and I forgot who I’d want to be. Probably someone in a corset tbh.
