Kinja'd!!!

Yes i became part of the crossover club, and went ahead and bought a 2015 honda crv.

We owned a 2010 acura tsx which was a really good car, but my family is growing. Me and the wife are expecting our second child. I really dont care to have a fun car the crv is just good at what it does i own a motorcycle i get my fun from that.

We have two kids now and an ‘03 CR-V, and it feels cramped. We want to upsize to a minivan.

That’s good. Really, for just driving around town it’s not bad, but we took our first road trip since having our second and with a double stroller and two carseats, things are tight. It works though.

For as much shit as the CR-V gets, they are really good vehicles. Also you can still find some leftover 16s on the lots. We have 3 SEs in the shop for leather this coming week.

MDX is nice, my dad’s had two. I drove his ‘09 from Seattle to Salt Lake City. Excellent road tripper.

Yeah they really are. I like that it is very roomy and drives nice, mpg rating is good. We got a great deal on a used 2015 ex-l and they gave me a fair price for the tsx.

I was trying to convince my wife to go with the cx-5 but she is so loyal to the Honda brand. The crv also had more cargo space than the cx5 and that was a big factor.

There is nothing wrong with that. Honda makes great cars, and they have the legendary VTEC :p

We’ve only got one kid at the moment but going on longer trips and all the stuff we take shrinks the Mazda real quick. When it’s time for kid #2, I’m sure there will be an upsize required

Also the CVT defies the hate it gets. It’s my opinion that a good automatic transmission should work without you even noticing it. Honda’s 2.4/CVT combo does just that. Every accord and CR-V I’ve driven is, for lack of a better description, a perfect appliance. They’re practical, efficient, and do their jobs for a long time without complaint.

It just got to go with it fella.

I hope the new place is okay.

Glad to hear it.

Things are good here. Weather is hit and miss (either sunny but windy and cold, scattered showers or cars not in the right place while it is good) so not getting anything done on my time off, oh ye’, I’ve six nights off, then in for one, then off for another eight.

It is exactly what i think. For me i dont need anything craxy when it comes to cars the motorcycle does that already. I was very impressed how smooth the crv shift and the phone connectivity is painless.

Moving can be difficult.

You inevitably find stuff you forgot you had, then there’s the reminiscing, etc...

Mostly to having to uproot stuff you had settled.

Was it your car? or hers? or both of y’all?

If your car, then why is the stylistic part of it hers to decide? I’m asking because the TSX wagon is just as practical as the CR-V.

Both choices are great though

The TSX wagon has the same interior space as a TSX, just more cargo space. The CR-V has a lot of passenger room, which as TSX doesn’t have.

Kinja'd!!! "SnapUndersteer, Italian Spiderman" (dasborgen)
03/20/2017 at 16:11, STARS: 0

I dunno, the TSX Cargo room is quite a lot

TSX Wagon: 31.5 ft³, 66.2 ft³ with seat area

‘12-’16 CR-V: 37.2 ft³, 70.9 ft³ with seat area

According to Google, looks like you’re really only losing by 4.7 cubic feet with the seat folded, and 5.7 cubic feet with it not folded in the CR-V over the TSX Wagon. But that’s not yet the whole story...

A lot of that difference though is purely in the roof height... In terms of surface area in the cargo area with and without the seat folded, I imagine the TSX Wagon is right on par with the CR-V (I can’t find those measurements for surface area though :()

We live in nyc, we both got new jobs where now she will be driving the car to work, and i will be using mass transit more. I chose the tsx when we purchased it the crv was a mutual choice.

Happy wife, happy life.

I wasnt against the crv choice, i would had prefered the wagon yeah.

But my wife doesnt give me shits about me being out on the motorcycle so that works. The crv is a great car and i understood that, very spacious.

03/21/2017 at 07:39, STARS: 0

Exactly. We had a 2012 civic, my wife loved that car the honda entertainment system is very user friendly also. For a growing family the crv is unbeattable in its segment.

The roof on a tsx is low compared to the crv. We got a great deal on this crv a tsx wagon would be a older car and would had cost us about the same. Have you seen how convenient it is to fold the crv seats? it is one of my favorite features.

Kinja'd!!! "SnapUndersteer, Italian Spiderman" (dasborgen)
03/21/2017 at 11:14, STARS: 0

Of course I’ve seen how easy they are to fold... The TSX Wagon also has the same convenience I believe. They both have handles in the trunk area that remotely fold down the 2nd row seats (via a cable)

In any event, the CR-V is a great tool for what it is (best still in the segment). My GF has a ‘14 and wants a ‘17 to replace it soon
