The day everyone wishes they had a four banger...spark plug day.

Kinja'd!!!

Also, my Jeep’s axle is well in front of its engine, just like a Ferrari.

Unless it’s a mid-90s Ranger, those have eight plugs on a 4-cylinder engine.

Not a four banger, but happy I’ve got an inline and not a v or H!

Yeah. The 3.8egh isn’t too bad, but the straight six in my E30 was a lot easier. I swapped plugs in WRX so everything is easy compared to that.

Just be glad you’re not Jake with his V12 and all of its 24 plugs.

One of the few things I’m glad I don’t have to go through. Granted, the HEMIWagon has 16 plugs, but I’ve got that down to about an hour if I don’t drop anything.

My Outback just hit 60k and I was surprised to see the owner’s manual says it’s spark plug time. I’m dreading this to the point I might just take it to the shop. The funny thing is everything else on the car is dead simple by modern standards - the boxer puts all the accessories up front, there is no shroud, there is room to work, and even the damn oil filter is on top of the engine. But yeah boxers and spark plugs... still I’m thinking it will probably be easier than the rear 3 plugs on a transverse Hyundai V6 that require like 3 u-joints to get at.

I did the plugs on my ‘08 WRX. It was tough but I got it done. The hardest part is wiggling the coil packs off as there’s is barely enough room. My ‘92 Loyale was easy as the plugs were at the sides of the heads right on top.

All of my current cars have 16 also. They’re about due on the R.

You can get good aftermarket NGK plugs for more reasonable prices, but OE plugs from the dealer are a little more than that even. Plus there are silicon insulators on each one that should be replaced every time.

I just did the sparkplugs on my V6 accord on Friday. It was my first time and took me like 1.5 hours. I am glad I started with the back 3. After I finished those I did the front three in a fraction of the time.
