Drove through rain, fog and snow. Handled it all. And man those back roads were beautiful.

West Virginia is my favorite driving state. If you head a little further south, to where I-81 meets I-64 near Staunton, Virginia, you can hop on route 250 through WV. It’s my favorite road

You can take 250 to 119 to Morgantown and then loop back to 66 on the road that you took. I’ve been on the route you took, and it’s a blast.

US 50 in WV is where I had one of my first code browns. first with my dad at least. Feeling the flow of the road, I was a bit cocky as the freezing rain/snow fell lightly. short downhill straight into a banked and blind righthanded hairpin and discovered exactly how understeer felt. Washed out close to/ onto the double yellow and learned a bit of humility. took it down to 6/10ths after that

good road. its a shame west of 79 it isn’t. it is interesting in other ways however.

I think we need to get a DMV Oppo group together and hit a WV backroad.

I’m currently living in Eastern PA. At the time of that road trip, I was traveling from Eastern NC to Erie PA in my recently purchased 94 Miata. Probably the best day I’ve ever spent behind the wheel. WV has the most fun roads. “The speed limit is 55, but we dare you to try and go that fast!”
