Popped in the big-ass video card and a 700W PS and this thing fired up on the first try. The wiring barely fits inside the case, but that might only be an issue if I slap a few more hard drives inside. It looks like a RAID5 array was an option from the factory, so I may toss in a few of the 500GB or 1TB drives I have piling up around here into an array.
Updates and drivers are currently being downloaded, but even in the few short minutes I’ve used this unoptimized system it feels incredibly speedy. I think I’m going to like this thing.

Did any of that stuff from CPI even work? That place is trashed now from 7 down. 9th & 8th floor empty.

I have fired up a few items, and scrounged a few for parts. So far everything I’ve tried has been functional. I was a little surprised to find that one of the external hard drives was a 1TB unit which is more than I expected given the age of most of the equipment. I’ve been working a ton of hours lately, and for the last two months (and the next month) have been working the dreaded 0300/1200 shift, although right now it’s only on weekends. It’s good for the bottom line, but I haven’t had much time for hobbies, like the computers, and hanging out with friends. A couple of machines are sitting on a chair in the hallway, guts exposed, and threatening to shred my pants leg as I walk by and snag it.
That view is quite a bit different from the last time I was there. That was about two months ago, so based on this rather unscientific deduction it sounds like you guys are clearing out a floor per month. I’m sure some are more challenging than others given the differing amount of boxes of crap and different number of walls. How long to you expect to be on this project?

May? The sooner the better. A whole lot of multitasking going on, 7 was almost done. 6 getting wrecked.

Just Demo. We were pressed to get 9&8 freed up so Paric and subs can start put back on upper floors. Last few days I was doing some welding to keepmachines from falling down shaft while pushing trash down it.
